I bought the cutest piece this weekend at the barn sale. And true to form, even though I was exhausted Thursday night, I came home and restyled my little mantel. I’m like a kid when I get something new! I want to bring it home and play!
This shabby birdcage display piece. I thought it was a little different. Thank goodness it fit perfectly.
I shopped the house and used what I had on hand. Including the Paper whites. They are a little wintery, but the tulips I have are huge. I need to maybe look for some little miniature ones.
Then again, they don’t bother me. I’ve always loved paper whites. Do you remember when you used to see them in all of the winter issues of the old Victoria Magazine? They were so gorgeous. That’s when I really fell in love with them.
Strangely enough, that’s the only bunny that I own. Crazy! I think I need to do a little rabbit shopping.
I sat a couple of suit cases and a brown transfer ware bowl on the hearth below. I did have a curtain covering that ugly fireplace but I moved it recently. I’ll have to put that project back on my to do list.
I REALLY need a rug under that coffee table. To break up all of that tile. They’re just sooooo expensive! I’m on the hunt though. I’m thinking a solid color jute or jute looking rug. In at least an 8x10.
I’ll be joining Nita at Mod Vintage Life for Mod Mix Monday!
Stop by and visit some of the other wonderful blogs who are participating this week! See you there!
Have a great day!

Your mantel looks lovely, Denise! I love the paperwhites. I have a pot of faux small flowered daffodils that I call paperwhites in the Winter because I have it out year round.
ReplyDeleteFantastic find! Your mantle looks like something that would adorn the Spring cover of a magazine! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove your mantle and the bird cage is fabulous!
