Finally……..FINALLY finished. Well, 95% anyway.
We have one of those oh so glamorous 1970’s style en suite master baths. Which in this house means it’s about the size of a postage stamp. It needed a total remodel. We even had to replace the subfloor under the potty. Who knew a new toilet could be so exciting!
Sorry, blurry pic. The shower curtain was a $3.00 Goodwill find.
I would have loved to replace this cabinet above the toilet with something vintage. But painted it duck egg blue instead.
And here’s what I really LOVE!
My new vanity and sink! I bought this buffet years ago for this very purpose. Boy was it worth the wait!
I choose this vessel sink because you could mount the faucet on the sink instead of having to mount it outside like many of them. Still searching for something to use as a back splash. Maybe some vintage tin from an old ceiling?
Again, duck egg blue and then distressed. I went ahead and waxed the top. We’ll see how it holds up over time.
Oops! Looks like I forgot to put on the other two knobs before I took pics.
This is the only thing we have left to do. Hang the lights. They’ll go on either side of the mirror.
Still looking for the perfect accessories. I just kinda threw these in until I find what I want. One of those “I’ll know it when I see it” type things.
So here’s the break down on our DIY project so far.

- New flooring $100.00
- New baseboards $25.00
- Paint $ 35.00
- Vessel Sink $125.00
- Vintage Buffet $125.00
- Sink Faucet $125.00
- Lighting fixtures $60.00
- Misc. Plumbing Supplies $50.00
The total for one teeny tiny $755.00

I’m happy that it was only a small bathroom!
Now it’s time to go shopping for some fluffy white towels and other goodies!

DeleteLove the buffet as a vanity, Denise! I'll bet you were thrilled to be able to get that into place. Budget makeovers can be a challenge, but in a good way. I think it forces you to be a little more creative.

Yep....I can say pop corn ceilings! I have them almost everywhere. My solution.....just don't look up. It hurts my poor old neck anyway! :)
DeleteWe just did a HUGE Remodel of our fairly large Master Bath & Closet... I WISH my total was $755!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! We ripped out the shower(the grout was starting to crack) & the floor. Had carpet in the closet & out that came. Travertine tile..... $$$$$$$$$$$$$ but, the shower/floor turned out divine. Then there was over $1,000 just in new fixtures (shower,tub, 2 sinks, potty handle, towel rods...) You're getting the picture? I decided to keep the original cabinets (I LOVE YOUR IDEA OF THE BUFFET painted blue & your new sink ROCKS) but, we ordered granite for the top & under counter mounted sinks... $$$$$$$$$$$$ But, like you I LOVE IT. I forgot to get before photos but, I'm about to work on a post of AFTER shots. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your new "Digs". Charlene

Wow, what you did was great, not to mention practical! I love that vanity cabinet. Anything coated with chalk paint really transforms into a significant piece. The whole remodel was simple and inexpensive, but satisfying. :D You did a really great job!
