A Little More Christmas

Heather and I were wondering……how do you decorate for Christmas?  Do you take down your year round décor and replace it with your Christmas décor?  Or do you “mix in” your Christmas décor with your year round décor?  Heather took a little survey on Facebook and the general consensus was that most people replace their every day pretties with Christmas.

These days, I try to incorporate my Christmas with my every day décor.

“Keep it simple” that’s my attitude these days!

Today…..a look at the little cabinet on the other side of the dining room.  One of my favorite places to create little vignettes.

Simple vintage cards mixed in with my transfer ware and what little ironstone I own.

I did empty my big hurricane and fill it with Christmas cheer.

But I used the contents as filler here…..

A little glitter.

And here’s my total look.  Very understated.

I also replaced the goodies in the bowl on my dining table.

Not to worry…..all of the vintage goodies went some place else.

Can’t show you the entire room.  We’ve had the entire back wall torn out and are replacing windows and the door!  I’m so excited!

See you later this week!

  2. Don't you just love how we move stuff around? From one place to the next it's shuffled. I like the colors in the cabinet. It's all beautiful.

  3. Very pretty touches, Denise! I try to mix in with my everyday decor. There are some things I put away to make room for Christmas vignettes, but for the most part I mix it in. I just don't have the room to store the everyday stuff to take it all away. I love the cards in the bowls and the ornaments. I think they make for a great way to incorporate seasonal decorating into the everyday.
