Sneak Peak!

Here’s a little sneak peak of Saturday’s sale.  It’s finally starting to come together.  We had a couple of vendors deliver furniture today!

We’re really excited about this ADOREABLE doll furniture!  We hand picked this vendor because we felt that our customers would love these cuties!

Urban Barn Sale This Saturday!

We’re having our first sale this Saturday at the warehouse.  It will start at 7:00AM to beat the heat through 1:00PM  or later depending on the crowd.  We will have several guest vendors so we'll have a great variety of merchandise for everyone’s taste!  From clothing to solid painted furniture to our more whimsical designs.

Here are a couple of projects that we’ve been working on……

Love LOVE this coffee table!  The base color is Graphite A.S. chalk paint with gray dry brushed over.  Loving that quatrefoil design!

This is a smaller stool.  A great accent piece for a touch of color.

We also have quite a few pieces in the softer pastels that I am so crazy about.  The warehouse will be FULL with goodies and we expect to flow over into the parking lot with great merchandise!  This promises to be a HUGE first sale.  The address in on the flyer at the top of my blog.  Come early for the best selections!!

Another Successful Workshop and Some Yummy Barbeque

We had a wonderful workshop Saturday!  It’s always soooo much fun for us to see what people bring to paint and how their tastes run.  We had a whopping twelve people this weekend!  WOW!  Fun fun!  Fortunately we had some extra help this time and things went smoothly.  I didn’t get many pics. but here are a few of the wonderful finished pieces.

This fabulous vintage chest!  LOVE the different knobs on all of the drawers.  There’s still one missing on the top left.  She’s hoping they have the little blingy knobs back in at Hobby Lobby.  Sorry…..no before pics.  but this chest was an ugly stained piece that had definitely seen better days.

wks5

Such a cute end table.  And look how those center woven surfaces turned out!  Perfection!

wks6

Another vintage cutie.  Look closely at all of the different colors peeking through.  Love Love!

And what could be better than to have Hubby call late in the afternoon and announce that he’s “fixin” his oh so yummo barbeque pork ribs.

wks2

Delicious!  And here’s his easy peasy recipe.  Remove most of the fat and outer skin.  Then a dry rub…

Of Cain’s barbecue spice.  Let sit in the fridge for about 1 hour.  Then cook with an indirect heat method on the Webber grill.  The old fashioned way.  Serve with Pine Ridge Barbecue dipping sauce.  Pretty much the best ribs you have ever put in your mouth!

The perfect end to a perfect Saturday!  Hope your weekend was wonderful!

New Drapes!

I had been looking at drapery panels from the Pottery Barn catalog for months.  But I’m cheap, and well…..Pottery Barn, although not really expensive, is often out of my budget.  I was especially interested in their Camilla Drapery panels.  Then……they were on sale.  I mean REALLY on sale.  Less than half off!  Finally!!  And the only color they had left was perfect for me!  Sometimes it pays to be a little on the quirky different side of things.

I am in love!

They look fab. in my dining room.

And they gave the entire room a lighter brighter look.

The little bit of color in the pattern looks perfect with my accessories in the dining area.

Ahhhh…….a breath of fresh air.  For around $35.00 a panel!

Just A Walk In The Park

The weather here has been nothing short of ALMOST perfect!  I don’t know that I remember a Spring quite like this.  EVERYTHING is in bloom.  “aaaahhhchoo!”  Okay so there is the whole allergy issue.  But it’s almost been worth it!

The wild roses have the most magnificent smell.  Not sweet……but more of a spicy herb type of scent.  Heavenly!

The nature trail through the park.  Miss Molly has been in doggie heaven on our morning walks!

What a perfect time of the year to win the perfect giveaway!

I was fortunate enough to win this beautiful collage from SueAnn at SueAnn's Journey.

I tucked it in with all of the other goodies on my Spring mantel vignette.  With is butterflies, fairy and nature inspired theme, it looks just perfect!  Thank you so much SueAnn!   I am honored to now be the owner of a beautiful piece of your art.

Kickin’ It At The Warehouse!

I have been a terrible blogger lately.

This would be why……..

n

Some sold, some not, some custom.

I could have sworn this place was huge!

There is more space back to the left, but it’s full too.  So here’s the progression of work…..Ms. R. searches out the furniture and coordinates picking it up.  I (try) to help base coat.  I organize, sort and otherwise try to find space for furniture hardware, paint, etc. when I’m not doing that.  Heather…..well she’s the true artist.  She does all of the pattern.

I don’t like bright colors and lots of pattern.  What do I know!  This stuff is selling like CRAZY.

Okay…..I admit it’s super super cute.  We did a little impromptu outdoor photo shoot this morning.  If you can call taking pics. with your cell phone a photo shoot!

The sofa, we’re keeping.  We painted the frame a soft blue.  The fabric on the body is in excellent shape.  I’ll probably recover the cushions. The end table is custom for a customer.  I LOVE the French style coffee table with the more modern Chevron pattern.  It sold today shortly after making its debut on Facebook.  That’s a pretty sorry attempt to blur out the warehouse next door on the mirror in the back ground.

Great shape on this coffee table.

We have a pair of these just finished up.  This is NOT stenciled.   Heather hand paints everything.

Poppies on turquoise coffee table.

Those are dining tables on either side.  Round pedestals are hard to find.  Ms. R. has a crazy scary knack for finding this stuff.

Quatrefoil, damask, Chevron, floral……all going strong and are GREAT sellers for us!

Today I started moving all of my sewing “stuff” to the warehouse.  FINALLY what I have always wanted!  My very own studio!  So I ‘m taking…..okay, I was given…..the office area!  And the best thing as summer proceeds…….it’s air conditioned……!!!!!

It has been in the 90’s the last couple of days…..heat and metal building…..not a good combo.  I’m just hoping that I can sweat off some weight.  Smile

Highs this next week in the 70’s.  YIPPEE.

From the girls at the warehouse…..

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!  We’re super excited here.  Big news coming soon.

Ooh…ooh……I almost forgot!  Next paint workshop……May 19th.  I haven’t even had time to post it at the top of the blog.  Wouldn’t you just looove to learn some of our techniques???  Our workshops are a great success.  We have had people repeat a second time every class.  I’d say that means they’re having a great time and learning tons.  Wouldn’t you?
