This is the last vintage Monday! I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here. It seems like it should be at least another week or two away to me. Ah well…..as it turns out, I ended up having plenty of vintage items to share with all of you. These posts were a lot of fun for me because they really made me take a look at all of the vintage goodness that I already owned or had acquired from my mother.
This week, it’s all about Santa!
I’ve actually had these little guys for years. They probably came from my Nanny and are in almost perfect shape with their little glittered boots and red flocked clothing.
Several of the special little felt guys made by my great-aunt “Tootsie.” Of course, the elf on the left is Anna Lee.
Actually, I think I may have made the one above. It was my first (and only) attempt with the little felt ornament kits. It REALLY made me appreciate the hard work that goes into each and every one.
Looks like Miss Molly got this one. That girl is a mess!
This little guy lost his belt.
Could not figure out what this guy was supposed to be used as for the longest time. And why he only had half of a hat. Then I noticed that he had an extra piece of felt sewn on the back. He’s a napkin holder. I’m sure the napkin is meant to make up the rest of his little hat.
These are some of my most special treasures. This little box display hung on the wall in my mother’s home year round.
Close up of the little stuffed vintage skier girl.
This (of course) is not Christmas, but is part of the collection above. Is this not just the most darling mama and baby?! Very old and very fragile.
I have seen a lot of vintage goodness that I remember from years past.

ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful...and I do love the little mama and baby monkey. I have a couple vintage Santa's on my blog today too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThose santas are sweet! I've enjoyed catching up on some of your previous posts too.
ReplyDeleteI love the wet bar and the color is so much fun I made my hubby look at it. I guess it is retro. Read the other day how cocktail parties were the rage in the 50's. Lonely housewifes in the burbs trying to get to know their neighbors......I guess?
xo,
Carole

Hello Denise...I love your vintage Santa collection! I adore the Santa who lost his belt... maybe he took it off because his tummy was full from eating all of the cookies we all left out for him for Christmas Eve! Merry Christmas to you... Bisous... Julie Marie
