Our DIY Wedding-Part 2

As I look at my pictures, I can sure tell that I had a whopping 3 hours to finish all of my decorating at the barn.  Crooked table clothes!  My mother would have had a fit!  “Quality control!”  she would always say.  Crooked table clothes drove her crazy!  So did plastic plates and plastic forks and knives.  Yep, she would have had a fit, because in the end, we ended up using plastic.  And…..I never finished making my napkins, so we went with paper.

Remember the cute piece that I purchased for $8.00?  It made a perfect napkin holder.

A plant stand, lined with a vintage tablecloth,  held those “tacky” plastic plates.

My Mandeville flower seed display box held crackers.  My poor hubby.  He wanted to help me with everything but was totally clueless.  I asked him to throw some crackers in my seed box, he asked how should he arrange them.  I was so hot and tired, I just said “ I don’t care, just line them up.”  And he did, straight as little soldiers!  Bless his heart!

This vintage garden ornament was my favorite decoration.  It held all of our little hanging lighted jars, the little his and hers cones that I made, and burlap wrapped plants around the base.  It was huge and really showed well in the large space that we had.

I made the bird cage graphic with the love quote and just tucked it down among the flowers.

…………………………………………………………………….

I missed you Mother, you should have been there to share this with Heather and I.  And I sure as heck wouldn’t have had crooked table clothes!  They would have looked beautiful.

Love, Denise.

More views of the barn itself coming in my next post.  It is an amazing piece of architecture for sure!
