Sorry this is the first time I have posted this week. Things have kept me away from the computer and my usual routine.
Finished a couple of projects last week, though.
Like these panels for the windows on either side of my front door.
I needed curtain rods but didn’t want to spend the money. So….I took the super cheap tension rods that I already had and made a cover for them. Saved me quite a bit of money!
Which made me feel at least better about the stupid price that I paid for the cotton lace!
Yet another blurry picture! Darn it!
Finally got Her Highness back in her regular chair. The snooty little girl didn’t like the slipcover that I covered her chair in. To protect it from HER fur. It took a fluffy pillow and a soft fuzzy blankie to convince her. What a Diva!
Moved a few things around and found this great print on canvas to hang on this wall. I needed something with “presence” for this small but busy busy painted wall.
Loving the color.
I could wear this.

With boots. Don’t know why I threw that in. Except we’re going to have our first freeze tonight……. and that sweater looks yummy and warm….. And I love weird clothes……. to go with my weird house…….. it all makes me weirdly happy! :) In a week where there hasn’t been much to be happy about…… So I embrace my weirdness…... If only I were weirdly rich……. I could order that outfit……
Sigh….on well.
Check out Free People. Link above. Cute stuff.

Hi, Denise! I love that painting!
ReplyDeleteAnd how cute are those cafe sheers! I recognize that crinkle fabric and trim! LOL! (That's what happens when you live in the same city!)
I really like those sheers! I need to replace the ones by my front door and I have never thought to dress them that way! Super cute! Hmmm? Would you mind if I copied your idea? I may have to!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Great job on the curtains. I love your style, that sweater would look divine on you! Love your wall, what a fabulous design!

What a wonderful idea for a regular tension rod, I'll have to remember that for future reference. Very creative and I love the look you achieved and the curtains! Great job! Hugs! Marilou
ReplyDeleteGreat job, your curtains look so pretty... and that is a very cute outfit, looks warm and cozy too! I loved all the pictures you have shown today, everything looks gorgeous, Oh and your kitty looks quite comfortable in his chair!!! Blessings~~~ Daphne
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains. I'm always using spring rods to just get me by till I can buy something nicer and then the spring rods end up staying up. That was a good idea to cover them. Thanks for the link to that store...I loved everything there. The clothes were so bohemian. Loved em.
ReplyDeleteLoving that curtain idea. Kitty looks pretty happy too. I used to own a store and carried the Free People line ~ great stuff. I still have an awesome pair of overalls.
ReplyDeleteHope it's not true and you're not too unhappy! But I know that real life is not like blog life..too bad huh? maybe why I keep coming back to it.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the curtains and the painting. It looks great with the wall.
Fun seeing the angel. I kept one for myself too and have it hanging behind my counter. Makes me think of you and our friendship when I see it.
Take care my friend!! and be happy
xx

Brilliant curtain rod!
ReplyDeleteLove the panels! And that outfit I would wear too! So you are not alone in your weirdness!! That wall is wonderful and the painting really sets it off nicely!!

Love your curtains and your solution to the ugly tension rod. I could have used that idea this Summer, as I did a sheer at the 3/4 point on my dining room windows {for some privacy as it faces the front walkway} and because of how the windows are I had to use tension rods. Love your brown drapes redo and I have got to get to Tuesday Morning!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm a new follower! I like your posts and the way you come across! : )

Your house isn't weird!!! It's gorgeous!!! I am lovin' those panels you made. Oh my goodness, I do love being invited over to your house Denise. Everything is so lovely and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI think the queen' is in my chair.
hugs to you
Your new curtain panels are fantastic! I love the way your pulled the turquoise color from the trim. And that trim....I love it!
ReplyDeleteI saw the pillows you recently made on a previous post and they too are gorgeous! I love, love, love the way you combined different prints and colors.
I don't think of your house as weird. Is see it as unique and dramatic. I adore it!!
That is a great wall you have there.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that sweater!!! You should get it & you're right it would ROCK with a pair of boots. Loved the fact the Diva Cat wouldn't lay on the slip cover you used to prevent chair damage from HER! Have a great week
