Find It At The Rink!

Wow!  I couldn’t believe how long it had been since I last posted!  What has happened to the last week?  I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday!  The 4th of July here was rainy, which brought us a beautiful cool respite from the Summer heat yesterday!  Needless to say, Hubby and I spent the entire day out and about exploring the countryside on the Harley!  We usually ride to some of the most remote little towns that we hardly knew existed.  Lots of abandoned buildings and houses that always leave me longing to explore their spooky interiors!  Actually, I’m usually wondering what kinds of treasures might be waiting to be found in their dark and sagging depths!  Suddenly people are loving the idea of recycling, reusing, or repurposing.

I wonder how many old abandoned houses may hide something as cool as this old cabinet?  Of course the original paint and chippie crackled finish only make it more attractive!

Adorable vintage hats.  I am suddenly finding myself attracted to old hats, they’re like individual works of art!

012

Could anyone have left a vintage set of canisters thinking that they may have out-lived their usefulness?

014

Maybe an old bread box?

011

Old buttons.  Perfect for your mixed media projects.

008

Maybe some old odds and ends.  Seemingly worthless but just waiting to be sorted and bagged and turned into a delightful little mystery.  Longing to be used in a fun project!

016

The top of an old buffet.  Who needs the bottom half when it would sit perfectly on a piece of furniture you may already own.  Repainted,  it is ready to be repurposed in someone’s home.

020

A vintage wingback chair.  Perfect for reupholstering.

Accessories.  Or how about an old lamp shade?  Its fabric long gone but it may find a new sort of charm as a replacement for a bird cage or a cloche.

So……..you MIGHT find these sort of things in an old abandoned building.  But you will definitely find all of this and more at the Rink Gallery!  While I can’t say for sure whether or not any of the dealers there are daring enough to risk life and limb climbing through abandoned real estate, I do know that they ALL work very hard to make sure that YOU have a great selection of fun merchandise at wonderful prices!  It’s a fun and much more comfortable way to dig through treasures to find just that perfect “thing” that you’re looking for!   Even on the hottest days, you can take a break from shopping and enjoy free lemonade and cookies while you rest and plot your next move.  With somewhere around 150 dealers you are bound to find something that you can’t live without!

  1. Hi,
Wow, what a great place. I could go crazy in there. I wish we had some old houses to find stuff in. I always thought that would be so cool. I think you should make your burlap pillows. I made some just by putting the pillow insert in, and folding the pillow like an envelope. Then I glue on an old rhinestone button. I will show it on my blog sometime.
    Have a wonderful day!
